We'd love your feedback on this too :)

So far, most of Happy Daisy's business has been coming from local people placing orders for home delivery and other local businesses stocking our goodies.

We decided that as we approach our one year anniversary, that we really wanted to try and make our products as accessible as possible to everyone - as not everyone who enjoys Happy Daisy food lives within a 6mile radius - or can get to their most local stockist on delivery day!

With this in mind we've worked really hard to get the postal system up and running - which has proved no easy task with fresh produce - but now with only using Royal Mail difficulties (touch wood!) are much reduced :).

The other thing we have been doing is securing a regular slot at the Gloucester Quays Food & Craft Market which you can see in our picture above as it was our first one last weekend. It was so lovely seeing so many familiar faces and to meet so many new people too. We received so much fabulous feedback - we really do love you guys!!

We're at lots of events over the coming months - our website and facebook are kept pretty up to date with where you can find us - next up is VegFest - scary and exciting all rolled into one haha - but please do come and say hi if you're there :)

So a couple of months ago we happened upon an advert for the British Pie Awards and thought 'wouldn't it be amazing if little old us and our little bundles of pastry love could hold our own in something like that?!' and in a moment of crazy, the form was completed!

Fast forward a few weeks and life and daisies had taken over a little and our thoughts of entering moved to 'maybe next year'.... That was until the lovely Chairman made contact with us because of our incomplete entry - Dr Matthew O'Callaghan was so supportive and encouraging it gave us the confidence to go for it :).

After much deliberation over which of our offerings to proffer up for judgement by some very experienced chefs and foodies alike we opted for the one that had been available the least - but had received so much love from all who had tried it - the then named Christmas Dinner Pasty! It tied in well with us having (due to popular demand) decided to launch the much favoured item over Easter too.

When it came time to make it ready for it's journey to Melton Mowbray we were lucky enough to be approached to make a batch of someones pasties at the same time - the now named Festive Dinner Pasty - so thats what we did, we made a whole normal batch, and took one to send off for the awards while all its siblings journied elsewhere - and we could do no more!

The day of the awards came and went, and we knew we would receive feedback from our entry - which we hoped would really help us develop our products as we evolve as a company - but we weren't really sure how it all worked. On the Thursday the top 3 of each class were announced and they were all invited to a special luncheon and ceremony the following day - until then we wouldn't know who had won which space. Several emails followed and late on Friday night an email arrived with the 'full results' - and there in the alphabetical list of the 180 companies who had entered over 960 pasties and pies between them was little old Happy Daisy - with the word 'Silver' next to it!!! Until this point (being total novices!) we had thought there were only three awards in each class - so came completely out of the blue - being the insomniac that I am, spent the night desperately wanting to shout it from the rooftops - but a combination of unconfirmed results and everyone we knew being asleep - our poor neice had to manage our excitement on her own haha!

So now it's official! And we're officially shouting from all the rooftops we can see! The Festive Dinner pasties will be available to order from now for a whole month! And to celebrate we're offering it to you all with 10% off! So for 2 of these pasty beasts it's £9.90 - postable to anywhere in mainland UK - royal mail 1st class - for £4 (for larger orders - or guaranteed next day delivery - please contact us directly to discuss).

Happy New Year Daisies!!! I know - its February - but I'm quite sure we literally blink sometimes and another 3 months have passed...

Anyway - sorry we have been away quite so long from the blog - no excuses - didn't actually realise it had been so long! We've been a person down for a while and thanks to you all, had a really busy festive season - the Christmas Dinner Pasties were a particular hit - wonder if they'll make another appearence over Easter...

The website has had a little update (thanks Pippa!) - still work to do - but check it out and let us know what you think! Emma's been buried under celebration cakes (thank you!), Chris has been Beevering away some new savouries - which we will launch soon ;).

Most exciting for us though after so many requests for a postal service - we have one!!!!

We've been sending out sweets, tiffin and cookies for quite a while, but it's taken us until now to be confident enough to send the pasties. We've sent quite a few trial packages - of different sizes, in different packaging, with different carriers to try and come up with a solution that balances quality and price - but we've got there!! So we're now selling all pasties in boxes of 4, that can be sent, chilled via Royal Mail - 1st Class. This of course isn't guarenteed next day delivery - but several trials all found that they arrived the following day. Guarenteed next day and larger packages are of course available - just send us a message and we can price it up for you :).

We hope everyone that has been after our goodies that don't live close enough or haven't been able to get to see us at our events is as excited as we are about this!

It's been a busy old few weeks here at Happy Daisy with our first couple of sales, home delivery orders coming in and speciality cake and outside catering enquiries - not to mention the lovely reviews that are starting to make their way onto our facebook page. You guys have blown our minds with your enthusiasm for what we're trying to offer - and it warms the cockles (vegan - of course!) so thank you from the bottom of our ever expanding hearts :)

I've spent a lot of time lately trying to learn how to build a website - and whilst it's very much a work in progress I'm pretty pleased how far we've come!

Paul finally took pity on me the other day and progressed us greatly and my wonderful friend has today been very patiently trying to help me understand how to reach all you lovely people that are hopefully looking for some vegan treats - I'm ever hopeful we'll be 'live' soon :)
